Sinc early April Microsoft is rolling out an update to the Stream on SharePoint WebPart. With the Update it is possible to selct a video Playlist as content source.

In addition to the new source option there is the new sort option to use the sorting from the playlist:

According to the message center notice the rollout should be completed on the end of may.
